Learn to recognize really high quality bed linen

Today there are many types of bed linen to choose from and as a customer it is sometimes hard to choose which one to buy. Many producers advertise that there bed linen is made of Egyptian cotton and stands for high quality. It can be good to know that there are actually 26 different grades of Egyptian cotton and only the highest grades stands for the best quality. To reach the highest grades the cotton must consist of long fine fibers of Egyptian cotton. In all Millefeuilles products we use the highest grade of Egyptian cotton and the cotton is woven in way that makes the fabric very soft, comfortable and long lasting.

Our favorite material that we mostly use in our products is cotton sateen. This fabric is woven with four threads over and one under compared to other cotton fabrics that consist of one thread over and one under. The sateen weaving technique makes the fabric shiny and soft. We also Mercerize all our fabrics which means a special treatment that gives the threads in the fabric a more lustrous appearance and strengthens them. This makes the fabric even more shiny and long lasting.

When you are searching for high quality bed linen one tip is to run your hand over it. If it feels comfortable against your skin this is an indication of very high quality. At Millefeuille we send samples to those of you customers who want to feel the fabric before you order our products and I can highly recommend you to ask for these samples.

The thread count of the fabric is also an important factor but only if the manufacturing process and the type of cotton are of the highest quality, since those factors are more important for a high quality fabric. However then the thread count actually counts and the best fabrics starts at thread counts around 300 and when you reach thread counts over 500 you have reached really top quality.

When I am tired and when I am looking for new energy and strength I try to spend some time by the ocean. It is very calming to sit on the beach and hear the waves when they reach the sand. It is  peacful to watch the water and the horizon. My favourite times by the ocean is the sun rise and the sun set. Where is your favourite place when you are searching for more energy?

At first you have to buy really good bed linen, there are no short cuts to quality you simply have to buy the best. Then it is important to iron your bed linen after each washing so they get their luster and softness back after the washing. Store them in a linen closet where you have every bed set nicely folded- that will make them wrinkle free and ready to use. It is also nice to add for example lavender satchels to the closet so the bed linen will smell as lovely as they look. Organize your bed sets after their colour. It is lovely top open the door of the linen closet and meet nicely organized and fragrant bed sets.

Dear readers and customers, I need your help regarding the ordering process of Millefeuilles  products. For me it is very important that every customer feels that it is easy and secure to order products from Millefeuille. At the moment all orders comes arrive to the company by e-mail or phone calls. Then we send an invoice to the customer and when we can see the money on our account we ship the products.

Do you think it would feel better if we also accepted credit cards like Master card, American Express and VISA? Or would Pay Pal be a better alternative? Could we do anything more to make the purchases even more safe for you who order? Tell me, what is your opinion and thoughts.

It is not always easy to shop products from  a web site- the fabric quality for example is impossible to feel over the internet. To change this therefore we have decided to send small fabric samples to customers who are interested to feel the fabric before the purchase. We have also (since some years ago)  introduced the possibility for customers to change or return  products 30 days after the shipment was made. Just to secure that you as a customer will be totally satisfied with your purchase.

After the purchase we also contact you as a customer to assure that you are satisfied with your order or if there is anything more we can do for you.

Our customers are very valuable for us and we listen to your thoughts. Since we produce top end bed linen and accessories the whole process around them also must be top end. From the first glance of for example a bed set, through your contacts with our customer department, when you get the beautiful package with the bed set and when you have used it for a while. This helps us to be a top end company as well.

Lovely summer where are you?

Where is the summer? Here in Sweden it is still rather cold and rainy. These kind of days I would prefer to lay in a hammock between two palm trees in a place like the one in the picture above. I would just bring bikinis, beach dresses from Melissa Odabash, sun glasses and two pairs of Jimmy Choo sandals.

Elegant shams

Shams looks especially elegant when they have flanges like the one in the picture above. The flanges makes the sham more decorative and it also makes it larger. It is important that the flanges are proportional in size to the rest of the sham. In Millefeuilles collections most of our shams have flanges and often four of them but we also have versions with only one flange or none for you who prefer them without. For me it is important that every collection is exclusive and elegant and that it brings a feeling of cool calmness to the home it will be used in.

My inspiration comes from elegant villas, castles and hotels in beautiful and sunny parts of Italy and France. Think of a beautiful castle in a the beautiful Tuscany landscape. In the large calm bed room you find a nicely made bed with shams and sheets beautifully embroidered. You lay down among the pillows and feel the soft and cool fabric against your skin. Behind the bed the shear cotton curtains move in the cool breeze from an open window and you can smell the fragrance from blossoming flowers in the garden below...
