An elegant bed

An example of an elegant bed

The beautiful embroidery and hemstitch

What makes an elegant bed? I prefer a top sheet instead of a duvet cover. The bed looks more elegant and it it breathes romantic vacation. I always add shams in the same design plus some European shams (larger than regular shams) in another colour. Somtimes I also add boudoirs (small shams) for decoration.
Besides the bed I also love adding fresh flowers to my bed room, they smell lovely and they also add elegance.

In this picture you can see the collection Cote d´Azur which with its embroidery and hem stitch fit a modern bed room in for example a penthouse in New York as well as a romatic bed room in a castle in Rome. The collection feels as nice as it looks like because it is sewn in a very soft and shiny cotton sateen.

Beautiful Elounda

Photo cred, Six xenses
I wonder if any of you who reads my blog has been to Elounda? If so it would be very interesting to hear what you thought about it. Write a comment of your experiences when you visited this beautiful place. I have not yet been there myself but I plan to visit it soon. One of my first choice for hotels will be this seen at the photo. What a view! I would not hesitate to go for a mid night swim and then just enjoy the view in one of those chairs.

Autumn inspiration

Photocred: Six senses Resorts & Spas
The autumn is here and actually I think it is very inspirational. Now it is time to invite all your friends to candel lit dinners. The fact that the dark arrives rather early in the evening makes the candles come to their right. Fill the center of the table with candles and also make a path of candles in your garden. After the party it is nice to take a long hot bath accompanied by a nice and relaxing scented candle.

Massage for more energy

Photocred: Six senses Resorts & Spas

Whenever I feel tired and without energy I book a massage ASAP. During massage I can relax and it feels like all negative energy is replaced by new initiativity and a lot of new fresh energy.
One of my favorite places for massage is SoHo House in New York. There you can choose their Cowshed Full Body Massage. This massage focuses on your circulation and brings more oxygen to your blood. It also helps the muscles to release toxins. The therapist use long stokes that are used in Swedish massage
I always try to rest a little after the massage also so I can enjoy the moment fully. When I leave I feel like a totally new person.

I promise to show pictures from the new bed linen collection as soon as the first samples are ready.
In the meantime why do you not like me travel in your mind to this warm and relaxing evening at Barbados- I will definitely book a trip to this nice hotel soon.

How to be a Good Guest

Picture or the exterior of Grand Hyatt Muscat, kindly provided by Hyatt

I feel welcome in a hotel that makes me as a guest feel important. When you choose the best hotels in the world it is important that everything is perfect. Already when I arrive in the reception area I expect that the person that helps me with the check in is correct and welcoming. Most of the better hotels have personell that make me as a guest feel special, offer help with the bags and let me know that they like having me as a guest.

Equally important is that I as a guest behave correctly and for example do not forget to tip the ones that helps me with the bags, cleans my room and so on. If you as a guest want to be treated with respect you should treat the persons around you with the same kind of respect. I can feel ashamed when I see how other guest sometimes treat the personell at the hotels with disrespect and behave badly. For me it is important to have a good relationship with the persons working at the hotel so I they like to have me as a guest even in the future. Most persons on the hotels i visit do a very good job and they deserve respect for that.

Have an nice evening and enjoy this beautiful picture above, click on it and feel welcome

A nice exterior

Photo of Hyatt, Key West, kindly provided by Hyatt

I try to always stay at nice hotels when I am away from home. I feel more relaxed and happy when I am in a beautiful surrounding. For me it is also important that the bed and the bed linen feels very comfortable. A good hotel must invest in the best bed linen otherwise it does not matter how nice the room looks or how nice the people working there are. It is also important that the hotel has a good spa where one can relax with some nice treatments- I will write more about this later.

Visit the Berkeley for an afternoon tea with a fashion theme

Pictures of the PrĂªt-Ă -Portea at the Berkeley in London, kindly provided by Maybourne Hotel Group, Meg Connolly Communications.

If you visit London you must go to the Berkeleys for their afternoon tea called PrĂªt-Ă -Portea. On their menu you can find some of the fashion seasons latest creations transformed into wonderful cakes. This season you can taste for example a biscuit inspired by Tom Fords pink chiffon summer dress or why not try the lychee cream and raspberry jumpsuit inspired by the one designed by Marc Jacobs? My absolute favourite is the summer dress of red currant, papaya and blueberry mousse inspired by Prada.

Together with theese lovely cakes you can drink teas with names as Pear Caramel, White Peony or Choclate Mint Truffle-they taste as good as their names suggests. Or why not order a glass of champagne for a sparkling afternoon.

Sailing in Paradise

In the summer I try to squeeze in at least one sailing trip. It is very calming to just relax on the sail boat and whenever I feel for it be able to dive into the blue. I prefer tropical places where there is much to see under the water, coral reefs, funny fishes and shells. I also like fashionable places like the festival de Cannes where there is a lot to do when you are not on the boat.
Do not forget to bring enough nice outfits along with the bikinis, sun glasses and beach kaftans because when you are not one the boat you still want to look good.

From Paris with love

When was the last time you got an actual letter from someone? Nowdays everyone nearly drowns in emails and SMS messages, short informative texts but a lot more boring than messages written on beautiful paper. The stationery you choose is important, there are a lot of nice paper qualities and designs to choose from. One of the good things with personal stationery is that it tells the reader something about yourself. Write something to your best friend, your family or someone you want to thank for something they helped you with. They will be happy when they find your letter in their mail box. I always bring my stationery when I am on vacation. Then I can write my nearest friends letters of what I am doing and they appreciate this letters a lot more than a short message on a post card.

Always Fresh Flowers at Home

To create the feeling of a welcoming and beautiful home fresh flowers is a good help. Why not welcome your guests already in the entrance with a large bunch of white lilies. Place them high for more effect. Lilies also smell very nice and white flowers feels clean and fresh. It is also nice to have flower arrangements on the dinner table but avoid to place them so your guests won´t see each other. Choose colours that suits the occasion and complements the food and the other things on the table for example candles and napkins. Two other important places for flowers is in the bathrooms and in the bedrooms. Personally i prefer fragrant ones on those places and I often combines them with nice candles for more effect.

No matter how nice your outfit is it will not feel comfortable without something elegant and exclusive underneath. Summer in Paris

One place you must not miss to spend summer is in Paris. Book a nice hotel for example Plaza Athenee. Bring your husband/wife or fiance and just enjoy some fantastic days. Do not plan everything in ahead, just do what you like. There is a lot to see in Paris and a lot of nice shopping. Do not miss Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré where you can find a lot of nice botiques. You also must take a lot of nice coffe breaks for example at Lauduree where you can try their gordeous macarons. When it is time for dinner I can recommend for example Ralphs at 173 Boulevard Saint-Germain. In Paris you must also eat fresh oysters and creme brulee.

I promise to give you more tips regarding things to see and do in Paris but with this I want to wish you a nice day and do not hesitate to book your vacation there.

Timeless elegance

I like timeless products. I like to create elegant and classical patterns that will survive for long time. Style is for me timeless. That is why I choose Italian producers for all of Millefeuilles bed linen collections. In Italy some of the worlds finest fabrics are created in famous and traditional mills. Here it is not important to find the cheapest materials and produce as fast as possible on the contrary it is important that the products meets the customers high expectations. For me these kind of products are the ones that will survive in the future.

Luxury packaging

The packaging of a product is important and it tells much of what is inside. If you sell a luxury product it is important to also pack it in that way. All Millefeuilles products are delivered in white gift boxes with matching ribbons and all packages contains a complimentary gift. Everything from the product to the package feels luxurious. That is one reason why many of our customers buy our bed linen as presents to their family and friends.

Bed linen with an air of Paris

Today I woke to a white landscape outside the window. Now I'm longing for spring in Paris. Last spring I spent a couple of weeks there and then I was also inspired to create a collection called Fleur du France. It reminds me of a hotel room surrounded by a lush garden with beautiful trees, why not cherry trees in full bloom and many beautifully singing birds. The collection, which I produce in Italy is made of fine Egyptian cotton and is woven with a technique known as jacquard, which means that it has a woven pattern of beautiful leaves. Every time I sleep in this collection it feels as if my bedroom is moved to Paris. Then you can always reinforce this feeling by buying freshly baked croissants with jam and a cup of tea served in a beautiful cup. Can a day start better?
