Evening at Barbados

Picture of the Six Senses Spa at Kempinski Hotel Barbados Bay-Bodrum, kindly provided by Six senses Resorts & Spas

Today I have had rain outside my windows so I have longed for a view like the one in the photo above. Rain is however not only bad since I have been working with my new collection and it is always easier to be motivated to stay inside and work when there is bad weather outside. I promise to show pictures from the new bed linen collection as soon as the first samples are ready.
In the meantime why do you not like me travel in your mind to this warm and relaxing evening at Barbados- I will definitely book a trip to this nice hotel soon.

How to be a Good Guest

Picture or the exterior of Grand Hyatt Muscat, kindly provided by Hyatt

I feel welcome in a hotel that makes me as a guest feel important. When you choose the best hotels in the world it is important that everything is perfect. Already when I arrive in the reception area I expect that the person that helps me with the check in is correct and welcoming. Most of the better hotels have personell that make me as a guest feel special, offer help with the bags and let me know that they like having me as a guest.

Equally important is that I as a guest behave correctly and for example do not forget to tip the ones that helps me with the bags, cleans my room and so on. If you as a guest want to be treated with respect you should treat the persons around you with the same kind of respect. I can feel ashamed when I see how other guest sometimes treat the personell at the hotels with disrespect and behave badly. For me it is important to have a good relationship with the persons working at the hotel so I they like to have me as a guest even in the future. Most persons on the hotels i visit do a very good job and they deserve respect for that.

Have an nice evening and enjoy this beautiful picture above, click on it and feel welcome

A nice exterior

Photo of Hyatt, Key West, kindly provided by Hyatt

I try to always stay at nice hotels when I am away from home. I feel more relaxed and happy when I am in a beautiful surrounding. For me it is also important that the bed and the bed linen feels very comfortable. A good hotel must invest in the best bed linen otherwise it does not matter how nice the room looks or how nice the people working there are. It is also important that the hotel has a good spa where one can relax with some nice treatments- I will write more about this later.

Have a nice evening

Sweet treats for a true fashionista

Pictures of the Prêt-à-Portea at the Berkeley in London, kindly provided by Maybourne Hotel Group, Meg Connolly Communications.

I could not resist to show two more pictures from the afternoon tea at the Berkeleys. The second of them with a Giambattista Valli theme is stunning.

What do you think?

Visit the Berkeley for an afternoon tea with a fashion theme

Pictures of the Prêt-à-Portea at the Berkeley in London, kindly provided by Maybourne Hotel Group, Meg Connolly Communications.

If you visit London you must go to the Berkeleys for their afternoon tea called Prêt-à-Portea. On their menu you can find some of the fashion seasons latest creations transformed into wonderful cakes. This season you can taste for example a biscuit inspired by Tom Fords pink chiffon summer dress or why not try the lychee cream and raspberry jumpsuit inspired by the one designed by Marc Jacobs? My absolute favourite is the summer dress of red currant, papaya and blueberry mousse inspired by Prada.

Together with theese lovely cakes you can drink teas with names as Pear Caramel, White Peony or Choclate Mint Truffle-they taste as good as their names suggests. Or why not order a glass of champagne for a sparkling afternoon.

Maui the perfect Vacation spot

Maui is an island that has everything from a tropical surrounding with rain forests, coral reefs, long beautiful beaches but also top end hotels, fashionable shopping and all the boutiques that makes a true fashionista feel satisfied. Spend the days at the beach, in the shops or on rain forest hikes. Squeeze in a massage at the and then spend the evenings at nice restaurants bars and cafes. When you arrive home you will look fresh, be relaxed and ready for booking your next Maui trip in your calendar.
The beach at the picture is Kaanapaali one of the worlds most beautiful beaches here are many nice hotels another place to stay which I highly can recommend is Wailea.

Sailing in Paradise

In the summer I try to squeeze in at least one sailing trip. It is very calming to just relax on the sail boat and whenever I feel for it be able to dive into the blue. I prefer tropical places where there is much to see under the water, coral reefs, funny fishes and shells. I also like fashionable places like the festival de Cannes where there is a lot to do when you are not on the boat.
Do not forget to bring enough nice outfits along with the bikinis, sun glasses and beach kaftans because when you are not one the boat you still want to look good.
