Large logos do not stand for high class

Are you like me tired of those larger and larger logos on everything from clothes to textiles and other things. Have you also noticed that the products from well known designers like Chanel, Ralph Lauren and so on seem to have large logos on their cheapest clothes  and bags (if you can call them cheap) and very small discrete logos on their more expensive items.

An exclusive item does not depend on large logos, instead it is the exquisite craftmansship, the material and the details in for example a Chanel jacket or a Louis Vuitton bag that stands for the true luxury.

At Millefeuille we do not have large logos with flags or other things, our bed linen and other products have very discrete signs that tells you that we are the producers.
So think one time again before you put on that large logo shirt in the morning- who do you want to be?

Today the bedroom is a room that many people choose to renew and make extra nice. After a time with focus on kitchens and bathrooms it feels refreshing to concentrate on a room where one spend at least one third of the days of a life time. An inspiration is the Master bedrooms, bedrooms adjacent to a walk in closet and a large bathroom with a lovely bathtub.

The bed becomes really inviting if you use bedding you really like and plenty of nice shams in different sizes, among which you can lay down and really relax. Choose a type of bedding that makes you happy and avoid too many colours if you are searching for a calm and relaxing feeling.

Relaxing calming bath

When me and my family was planning our largest bath room we all agreed that we wanted it to feel as a big spa and that the bathtub would have a central place in the room. I am not a fan of different jacuzzi tubs with jet streams and many different functions. Instead I prefer to lie down in nice warm water in an large and calm bathtub like the one in the picture.

Then I use fragrant candles and calming bath salts to make the whole bath even more relaxing. In the end I want to embrace myself in really soft and white terry towels.

How to make your bed perfect

I really enjoy sliding down between newly ironed and freshly fragrant linen. Even if the ironing means extra work it is well worth the effort. There is a large difference between sleeping in smooth shiny and wrinkle free linens compared with wrinkled and matte linens. The bed also looks better when the linens look good, it becomes an important design detail in your bed room. I recommend you to have at least some sets to change between then you can always have ironed and maybe lavender scented linen ready to use.

Morning training in the pool

Whenever I have time I take the chance to train before breakfast. One of my favourite training forms is swimming alone in the morning in a nice pool.  During the training I have time to plan the day and relax at the same time. Then I arrive fresh and healthy to my breakfast.

Jolie, the negligé for sweet dreams

Some time ago we launched our much longed for collection of negligés. The collection is called Jolie and consists of beautiful negligés in baby doll model. Jolie is made in 100 % silk and has lovely spaghetti straps.

Jolie comes in the colours white and cream white and will soon also come in black and dark blue.

Fashion inspirations

Something to be inspired by.....

Many are those fashion designers that are inspired by everyday things. A colour, a thing or something that happens can be the start of a whole new collection. Then people will buy the clothes and that original idea will affect the whole world.

During a fashion show it is always exciting to see the new trends and to hear the story behind the collection. The surrounding interior and the music makes the whole show even more inspiring. Like Louis Vuittons spring collection 2012 where Marc jacobs let the models sit on a carousel with prancing white horses and to the sound of a music box melody, beautiful! Another example is Karl Lagerfelds Chanels spring 2008 collection where the models walked around a 75 feet tall white Chanel jacket, simply stunning. If you do not have the possibility to watch the shows live many designers shows them on their home pages as well.

Good inspiration is important and at Millefeuille we work in the same way. We see something beautiful that inspires us and then we transform this idea to our bed linen. We produce samples which if they become fine then becomes new collections.

A lovely dinner by the sea

                                                      A nice place for a lunch or a dinner

It is so nice to eat by the sea. The food seams to taste better when the view is beautiful. Start with a fresch lunch or why not go for a a three course dinner? When the sun sets it is nice to use torches as a cosy lighting by the table.

The little black dress

The Little Black Dress or in short LBD is a must have in every stylish womans wardrobe. Coco Chanel introduced this kind of simple elegant evening dress in her collections already in 1926.

Go for one with simple and clean lines and pair it with "killer" high heels and accessories that gives it an extra elegant touch, like the pearls Audrey Hepburn combined it with in "Breakfast at Tiffany´s".

In same famous restaurants they change the usual white linen napkins for black versions when you arrive in your black evening dresses so the napkin matches your outfit.

With the right LBD you about to succeed at every dinner or cocktail party. Or as the Duchess of Windsor once said " When a little black dress is right, there is nothing else to wear in its place."

A summer with Vogue

Recently the latest issue of American Vogue arrived in the mail. It is as always full of inspiring pictures, articles and news. Anna Wintour and her co workers does not only make a magazine they litteraly makes the reader part of their visions in every single article and photo reportage. When a magazine can evoke happiness and inspiration in almost every spread it is very impressive and admirable.

American Vogue was founded in 1892 and has since several years back been given out in local versions in several countries. In my opinion the american version is still the best of everyone.

When I stay at hotels I like to use the terry robe in the spa between nice treatments like  facial massage, herbal baths and when I get manicure or pedicure. At Millefeuille we are at the moment searching for really good terry fabric because we want to delvelop a really beautiful and comfortable terry robe that we will start to sell.

Time for relaxation and rest

Sometimes it can be hard to relax when the so much longed for vacation starts. I often get in the right mood when spending time in a beautiful and relaxing environment. A place where the eys whereever they land sees something beautiful.

On vacation it is lovely to at least some days stay at an all inclusive resort. A place where you can totally relax and leave the outside world behind. The day starts with a lovely breakfast in the room or in a beautiful restaurant followed by a lazy day on the beach, sunbathing, bading, sailing or doing some other nice vacation activity. A nice lunch at the beach or the pool followed by a fantastic candle lit gastronomically challenging dinner.

There are lots of beautiful places in the world and resorts situated at remote islands with peace and tranquility are often good choices. The resorts owned by Sheraton and Four Seasons have never made me dissappointed.
